How to focus on the moment

Focus on the moment. Easier said than done, but not impossible.

Very often we find we are guilty of not living in the moment by either ruminating on the past, or being anxious about the future. As if doing so will give us the answers we need. No, both of these actions only leave us worried in one way or another.

We should do things that put us in the moment as much as possible. Meditation is about reflecting on the current situation. But so is anything that you have to concentrate to do well on. Then at the same time things that make us lose track of time can have the same effect. That’s why running or swimming are so good.

When you find yourself ruminating on the past or anxious about the future, do something that you have to concentrate on, or that helps you lose track of time. Even better, make it a part of your daily routine.
