If it ain’t broke

Tim Bunting Kiwi Yamabushi

There’s a rule when you’re checking someone else’s translation; if it’s not wrong, don’t fix it.

Simple enough, right?

The hardest part of checking someone’s work like this is to fight the urge to put your flair into it. Yet if you were to do that, it would ruin the original flair. Besides, it’s also completely unnecessary.

If something isn’t the way you would do it, but it’s not wrong, it’s still right, so just leave it.

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, in other words.
