Let me tell you about Mr. Kadowaki

coffee beans

Sure he may be rude. Sure he may slam the coffee cups. Sure he may snap at you for touching his antique weights. But this guy, he just doesn’t care. The only thing he cares about is giving you the best cup of coffee you’ve ever had. And that’s exactly what he does.

If Mr. Kadowaki were in business in NZ or Australia, he’d maybe be put out of business for all the complaints he gets for his service. I like to think NZers can see past that, and know that the service can be more than made up for if the coffee is good.

In fact, I don’t think the service is that bad. It may be a little bit slow, but he’s literally making you a coffee drip by drip. Of course he may be a bit passive aggressive, but if you actually talk to him, you’ll see past that and see he’s actually quite a nice guy. The problem is, it can take a little bit to look past that. That he’s survived in small town Japan for nearly 30 years should speak for itself though.
