Lucky escapes keep you in check

frozen trees during winter

Today I was driving to the pool and I took one corner slightly too fast for driving on snow. It just so happened that where I rode was covered in black ice, and my car started sliding out of control. I ended up doing an unintentional 90° turn, but thankfully there was no-one around, and I ended up in a carpark. If it had been any other stretch of road with other cars and no carpark to break my fall, things could have turned out much worse. Nothing like a lucky escape to keep you in check. I will definitely be more careful from now on.
