One-way teaching

One-way teaching is common in Japan, and I think it's why a lot of communication is one way here too. If you have someone who likes to take the spotlight or simply can't stand silence, this is bad news, because once you give them the chance to talk, they don't shut up, even when they're spurting shit that no one but them is interested in.

My tip? Listen. See what the other person is interested in, then respond to that. Otherwise you're just wasting the time of not only the other person, but yourself also. Plus if you listen, it's harder for people to judge you.
