Process and Progress: The uncomfortable becomes comfortable

Tim Bunting Kiwi Yamabushi

Practice something long enough and you get good at it, or at least you should if you're practicing correctly. I've been practicing yoga on and off for a few years now, but I've managed to keep up lessons for nearly a year and I'm finally starting to see true results. My arms and shoulders were already extremely flexible from being a swimmer, but I had the tightest hips imaginable. My hips are now not as tight, and I can comfortably touch my feet while leaning over, which I never used to be able to do.

Which is to say, you have to trust the process. You have to trust that a little progress every day truly does lead to results. You need faith in yourself not only that you can get there, but that you can also show up and put in the work. Do that, and before long, the uncomfortable does become the comfortable.
