What is the action?

All this knowledge we accumulate, through books, tv, YouTube, magazines, the news, and so on, we accumulate to inform us how we should, or equally importantly shouldn’t, act or behave.

So when it comes to writing or creating something, we need to think of the impacts our writing should or could have. That’s why there needs to be a practical element behind the stories we tell. There has to be something there that informs us how to act in the future.

If you can more easily ascertain exactly what action the media is or is not encouraging, then the media has done a good job of existing. If not, you need to work until it does.
