When you really need to give yourself a break

Mt. Ubagatake

This morning we tried to set out early for our hike as I had heard from a friend that they were unable to get a car park when they climbed the same mountain recently. I also tried to make up for time by using the toll highway system that Japan has. The thing is, I kind of screwed it up twice by taking the wrong exit on the highway.

In the end we were rather fortunate to get a park in a pretty decent spot, but not before I really worried whether we could make it on time or not. Mistakes beget mistakes, pressure begets pressure. This is exactly why you need to give yourself a break.

Forget that these ‘bad’ things happened, and just focus on being in the moment, and not letting your past mistakes carry on into the future. Don’t let your mistakes beget more mistakes, don’t let the pressure get to you. Just don’t even give it a chance.
