Losing but gaining
NZ ‘lost’ the cricket last night and it was a good lesson in humility. Even though we drew, there was a rule that mean England got through on having scored more boundaries than NZ. Whatever. Water under a bridge.
The thing that really struck me today was seeing that absolutely no one I met had any clue that there was a World Cup on. This just shows that there will always be at least one group of people who simply don’t care. Of course there are people who get in the way of what you want to do because they put pressure on you to perform, but at the same time there are people who are completely oblivious to your existence. Keep those people in mind when things don’t go as well as you’d like them to.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Hi, I’m Tim Bunting AKA the Kiwi Yamabushi, a New Zealander who became a Yamabushi Ascetic in the Dewa Sanzan mountains of north Japan. I’m part of the Yamabushido team, and we host life-altering Yamabushi training on the Dewa Sanzan (website link). People come to us for the ultimate mindfulness experience, to reach the next level, or simply connect with nature and themselves.
I’m on a mission to summit all 100 Famous Mountains of Yamagata Prefecture to spread the splendour of this fabulous location, and in dedication to all those who lost their lives out in nature, including my father.
On my daily blog I post thoughts of a practicing Yamabushi that I hope people can use to better themselves and live as fulfilling a life as possible.
