Quit playing the victim

When we are in uncertain times, it is easy to play the victim. It is easy to say that we are worse off than other people and expect special treatment. But this gets us nowhere. So you have it harder than others, what do you want us to do about it?

This was mainly triggered by some Japanese celebrities complaining that their salary has dropped thanks to obvious reasons, but I’m not buying it. I’m not sure what they expect us to do about it. Maybe they don’t realise that they aren’t the only people who are struggling.

I have been in times of struggle in the past that feel entirely unfair when compared to other people my age. People who have lost a parent will be able to understand to an extent, but it’s more than that.

Anyway, it’s tough. Believe me, I know. But you have a choice. You can sit there and complain about it, or you can start doing something to get you into a better situation. I don’t know what that looks like for you, it’s different for different people, but at the very least quit playing the victim. It gets you nowhere. Start looking for a new reality where you aren’t the victim.
