Self-discipline and blogging

I remember reading somewhere that we humans often overestimate how much we can do in a short time, while at the same time, we underestimate how much we can achieve with prolonged effort over a long period of time.

If you can dedicate 20 minutes each day to a blog, you can dedicate it to writing a book or some sort of exercise regime or something similar.

I started this blog not so much to have a blog, but to keep to a disciplined schedule. I guess I wanted to prove to myself that if I wanted to, I could continue something like this, and I have been able to do it every day since January 1st, 2019.

This combined with some other posts I have and I’m nearly at 1,000 total posts. That’s insane. Think about the sort of asset you could build with 1000 posts’ worth of effort. But even more so, doing this disciplined activity day in day out also proves that if you wanted to, you really could do something extraordinary.
