When people start complaining

They want something to change

I found a hole in the sole of one of my shoes. Now, in this case I think complaining about it is very much justified, who wants holey shoes, but complaining can also tell you things you may not realise. If you start hearing yourself complaining about something, it’s obvious a change of some sort is necessary. If that complaint is just for the sake of complaining, and it really is not possible to change, then of course this can’t apply, but there are certain use cases where complaints are a valid way of seeing your true desire. Just don’t complain too much and get other people angry though.
